Christmas in the Summer?

Christmas TreeOkay enough is enough

On September 15, 2008 I went grocery shopping and was very upset to walk into the store and find a lit Christmas tree. Yes, a Christmas tree and Christmas ornaments ready for sale.

Come on people. Technically, September 15th is still summer! Why are the retailers putting out Christmas decorations? What about Halloween and Thanksgiving?

The sad part of it is that it's only a matter of another year or two before the retailers will keep Christmas decorations on the shelves year round. The materialism breaks my heart. I wonder if today's children even know what Christmas is really about.

What's even sadder is everyone's quest to grow financially while ignoring the need to grow spiritually. If people would take time to understand that spiritual growth promotes financial growth, maybe we would be able to get through the summer before being bombarded with Christmas decorations.

Our currency says, "In God we Trust". Do we really?

That's my two cents and I'm sticking with it.
