How to Fight Back and Win

Even the most passive and peaceful person may find a time when the need to fight back is overwhelming. If you find that the philosophy of turning the other cheek just won't cut it in this particular situation and you find its time to step it up a notch, here are some tips on how to fight back and win.
- Get the facts. It's unwise to fight back about something when you only have half the truth. Make sure you have the entire story before you start to fight back. The missing piece of the story might change your strategy.
- Keep your emotions in check. A person who is calm, cool and collected is much more effective than a yelling, screaming hothead. To be most effective in your fight, you have to appear to be calm even if your emotions are raging internally. Additionally, you can diffuse your opponent if you remain calm.
- Walk a mile in the other person's shoes. Your action plan will be much more effective if you can think like your opponent. Doing so can help you come up with a win-win solution where both you and your opponent are happy.
- Put the plan into action. After you collect all the facts, check your emotions and understand your opponent's side of the story, its time to put your plan into action. A great plan is only as great as its execution. Go ahead, you're ready to fight back!
Whatever you do, be sure to stay within the confines of what is legal. What good is it to fight back and win only to end up in prison?
