Food
What a wonderful thing to experience. There is nothing like sitting down and thoroughly enjoying a good meal from start to finish. A good meal can brighten your day and/or set the mood for an evening.
It’s unfortunate in our microwave society that food seems to have transformed itself into an on-the-run item on the “To Do” list. Too many of us quickly purchase something fast, not so nutritious and most likely too salty and call it a meal. We wolf it down in order to get on with the next task. Personally, I feel food is too glorious of an experience to rush it.
Slow Down
Even if you don’t have the luxury of begin able to sit and enjoy every meal every day, schedule some time for yourself. Ignore the hustle and busyness of the day for an hour (or two). Get up from the computer, turn off the cell phone and have a date with a wonderful plate of food. Take your time to savor the taste, texture, temperature and aromas. Eat slowly and enjoy every bite.
When making your date with the plate, why not ask a good friend or loved one to join you. Hopefully, over time, you’ll slowly phase out fast food in favor of real food. BTW, check out the the piece on National Meal Appreciation Day.
I created this section on Tidbits and Stuff because I just couldn’t have a site on tidbits without discussing food, so here it is.
