Demand Studios while not high-paying site, it is a way for freelance writers to not only earn extra cash, but also increase their writing portfolio and get experience writing content for a publisher while receiving editor feedback.
In essence, Demand Studios is an article broker. They are the go-between popular websites (such as eHow and Live Strong to name a few), and the freelance writer.
The Demand Studio Hiring Process
Anyone interested in writing for Demand Studios must go to their website and register for an account. More than just registering, Demand Studios requires each writer to submit samples of their writing along with a resume. The Demand Studio team reviews the information and advises the applicant whether or not they have been accepted. If accepted, the writer is informed as to which of the Demand Studios clients the freelance writer is accepted for. As of this writing, most writers are accepted for the eHow project.
The acceptance process varies between 24 hours and several days.
How it Works
Writers log into their Demand Studios account and can select up to 10 titles on which to write. Before writing, however, it is strongly recommended that each writer review the style guide for the project. Familiarity with the style guide prevents unnecessary re-writes and edits.
Once the article is written, the writer uploads it to the Demand Studios website for approval. The editorial team reviews each article and either approves it or returns it to the writer for editing.
Upon approval, the article is published and the payment for the article is processed for payment. The current rate for each article is $15.

The Payment Process
Demand Studios usually sends an email to the writer once a week outlining the approved articles for which the writer will be paid. Payment usually follows with two days of the email and is processed through PayPal.
A Few Observations
Demand Studios is currently undergoing a few changes so there have been a few hiccups here and there. The hiccups seems to be a result of the site's popularity and growing writer and editor base.
While Demand Studios may not be the be-all and end-all for many freelance writers, it is a nice place to go to earn a few dollars between writing assignments.
